Mr. President,

Iceland welcomes the delegation of Austria and its national report.

In the spirit of constructive engagement, Iceland recommends the following:

1. Raise the minimum age of marriage to 18 years without exception.
2. Decriminalize abortion in all circumstances and remove legal, administrative and practical barriers to accessing safe abortion services.
3. Implement a ban on the use of contraceptive measures on persons with disabilities without their informed consent.
4. Ensure equal pay for work of equal value.
5. Extend the scope of anti-discrimination legislation to ensure protection for persons of diverse SOGIESC.
6. Respect intersex children’s right to self-determination and ban medically unnecessary surgeries.
