The Embassy of Iceland in Beijing is searching for an efficient and organized person with a positive attitude for a position as locally employed Visa Officer to start working as soon as possible.

Job Description
As Visa Officer your work will primarily consist of handling visa applications from Chinese citizens wishing to visit Iceland.
The Visa Officer's duty is to receive visa applications, check all relevant information provided by applicants, conduct investigations on validity and authenticity of documents, interview visa applicants, communicate with relevant parties in Iceland and China, write succinct summaries of all findings for evaluation by the Consuls. Other administrative assistance and office work as required.
Tasks of a Visa Officer might entail to register application information into the Embassy‘s IT system, accept and conduct application interviews, update biometrics, communicate via telephone calls or emails with banks, employers, and numerous other references put forward by the visa applicants, as well as finishing the process by printing and attaching visa stickers in passports.
As Visa Officer you will need to demonstrate sound judgement, fairness and precision.

Qualifications

•    Relevant higher education
•    Excellent language skills in Chinese and English
•    Schengen visa processing or similar work experience
•    Experience of working or studying in a cross-cultural environment
•    Ability to maintain calm and positive attitude under stressful circumstances.
