• A campaign launched to advertise and boost services to resolve payment difficulties facing highly indebted households.
• Work begun on drafting a long-term cultural strategy in consultation with artists.
• The Directorate of Labour and New Business Venture Fund provided with increased resources to respond to unemployment.
• A bill of legislation improving the environment for start-ups and innovative enterprises submitted to the Althingi.
• Initiative launched to increase summer employment and offer new employment options for young people.
• Cost-cutting drive launched in public administration, involving employees, management and users of services.
• Work begun on compiling a survey of the status and development of key indicators on economic and social issues together with future options.
